Marco Bagni is a Research Fellow and Contract Professor at the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia. He holds academic appointments in the Department of Communication and Economics and the Department of Education and Human Sciences. His roles include teaching English language courses tailored for disciplinary contexts such as technical communication and early childhood education, alongside conducting research in applied linguistics.
His research interests focus on English for Specific Purposes (ESP), Blended Learning pedagogies, Global Englishes, and the sociopolitical dimensions of English as a Lingua Franca (ELF). He has explored topics such as EMI (English Medium Instruction) in Italian universities, the role of technology in syllabus design for technical English, and the representation of African literature in English. His work often bridges language education, cultural studies, and postcolonial discourse.
