Toronto Metropolitan Universityمعرفی
Marco Antoniades is an Associate Professor in the Department of Electrical, Computer and Biomedical Engineering at Toronto Metropolitan University and Director of the Microwaves & Antennas Laboratory. He holds B.A.Sc., M.A.Sc., and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering from the University of Waterloo and the University of Toronto. Dr. Antoniades is a Senior Member of the IEEE, contributing actively to societies such as IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society (AP-S) and IEEE Microwave Theory and Techniques Society (MTT-S). He serves as an Associate Editor for prominent journals like IEEE Transactions on Antennas and Propagation.
His research focuses on engineered electromagnetic materials (metamaterials/metasurfaces), adaptive antennas, RF/microwave circuits, and wireless power transfer. Notable achievements include awards such as the Best of IEEE Computer Architecture Letters Award (2018) and a Teaching Innovation Award (2018). Dr. Antoniades has pioneered work on reconfigurable metasurfaces, programmable antenna systems, and applications in 5G/6G communications.
He holds leadership roles in IEEE committees, including the Education Committee for AP-S and the IEEE SIGHT Special Interest Group on Humanitarian Technology. His lab, the Microwaves & Antennas Laboratory, develops cutting-edge solutions for antenna technology, microwave imaging, and energy-efficient systems.
