University of Gdańskمعرفی
Dr. Marcin Paszke serves as an Adjunct Professor at the Institute of Archeology and Ethnology, Division of Mediterranean Archeology within the Faculty of History at the University of Gdansk. His primary affiliation centers on Mesopotamian archaeological research spanning the Fourth and Third millennia BC.
His research investigates Sumerian and Akkadian cultural practices with specialized focus on Mesopotamian boatbuilding traditions, including ceremonial vessels and votive boat models. He examines the religious symbolism of date palms and analyzes the evolution from pictographic to cuneiform writing systems through archaeological evidence.
Recent publications reveal consistent thematic concentration on Uruk-period botany-writing connections and divine boat symbolism in Sumerian texts. His work demonstrates deep integration of material culture analysis with textual interpretation, particularly regarding ritual watercraft and early script development in ancient Mesopotamia.
