Marcin Krupa

Marcin Krupa is a Lecturer at the Institute of String Instruments within the Academy of Music in Poznan. He holds a master's degree in violin making from the same institution (2002), where he studied under Professor Andrzej Łapa. His professional training includes specialized bow-making apprenticeship at Gregor Walbrodt's workshop in Berlin (2001-2002).

His research focuses on String Instrument Making, Bow Construction, Instrument Conservation, and History of Violin Making. This encompasses crafting new violins/violas/cellos, developing bows using traditional and alternative materials, and restoring historical instruments. He teaches courses in violin making and violin-making history.

Mr. Krupa has received 17 international awards across prestigious competitions spanning 20 years (1998-2018), recognizing excellence in both instrument craftsmanship and bow-making. His most notable recognitions include gold and silver medals for bow construction and distinctions for sound quality innovation.
