Dr. Marcia V. Lyles is a Professor of Practice in Education Leadership and Co-Director of the Urban Education Leaders Program (UELP) at Teachers College, Columbia University. She holds affiliations with the Organization & Leadership and Education Leadership departments. Previously, she served as Superintendent of Jersey City Public Schools (2012–2019) and Superintendent of Delaware’s Christina School District (2009–2012). Her career spans over 30 years in education leadership, including roles in the NYC DOE, where she oversaw curriculum development, special education, and school improvement.

Research focuses on urban education equity, leadership development, and systemic educational reforms.
