معرفی
Marcia Levitus is a Professor at Arizona State University's School of Molecular Sciences and an Associate Professor at the Biodesign Center for Single Molecule Biophysics. Her research focuses on single-molecule detection techniques applied to biological systems, integrating physics, chemistry, and biology. Her group investigates nucleoprotein assemblies, DNA-protein interactions in nucleosomes, and photophysical properties of fluorescent dyes. She holds a Ph.D. and B.S. in Chemistry from the University of Buenos Aires.
Education: Postdoc at UC Berkeley (2000-2004), UCLA (1998-2000), Ph.D. (1998) and B.S. (1995) from University of Buenos Aires.
Research Interests: Single-molecule fluorescence spectroscopy, conformational dynamics of biomolecules, and artifact characterization in fluorescent probes. Key techniques include Fluorescence Correlation Spectroscopy (FCS) and FRET.
Grants: NSF-funded projects on DNA repair dynamics and replication processivity factors, NIH grants on nucleosome dynamics, and collaborations with the Biophysical Society.
Labs/Teams: Leads a lab studying single-molecule biophysics, with collaborations across ASU and international institutions. Mentor for multiple graduate students and postdocs.
