Marci Baptista is a part-time Assistant Professor at Samuel Merritt University and practicing occupational therapist with dual certification in hand therapy and ergonomics. She teaches in the Doctor of Occupational Therapy program and maintains clinical practice alongside academic responsibilities.
Her scholarly interests encompass community occupational therapy services, particularly for underserved populations, aging-in-place interventions, hand therapy techniques, and ergonomic evaluations. Her teaching focuses on research methods, community practice, physical dysfunction management, and orthopedic rehabilitation including splinting.
Her research explores functional outcomes of therapeutic interventions, as demonstrated in her 2018 publication examining community-based hand therapy classes for older adults.
