Daniela Marchini is a full-time Associate Professor at the Department of Life Sciences, University of Siena, Italy. She specializes in insect reproduction biology with morpho-functional and biochemical approaches to sperm transfer/storage mechanisms and accessory reproductive gland secretions. Her research also explores antimicrobial peptides in reproductive contexts, and she actively contributes to science education initiatives.
- Graduated in Biology (1986) and earned PhD/Postdoc in Animal Biology (1990-1991) at University of Siena
- Visiting scientist at Leiden University's Human Genetics Department (1988-1992)
- Teaching since 1991 (Comparative Anatomy and Cytology)
Her research spans reproductive biology, environmental science, and STEM education. Recent publications examine human sperm biochemistry, marine pollution impacts, and innovative physics teaching methods.
