Marceli Sławiński

Marceli Sławiński is a Senior Lecturer at the Faculty of Painting, Academy of Fine Arts in Katowice, and heads the Department of Film and TV Scenography at the Faculty of Scenography, Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. He is a graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Katowice and specialized in scenography at the Academy of Fine Arts in Kraków.

His research and professional work focuses on scenography and set design across theater, film, and television. Notable projects include collaborations with renowned directors like Paweł Pawlikowski (Ida, The Mill and the Cross), Grzegorz Jarzyna (TR Warszawa), and Agnieszka Holland (In Darkness). He emphasizes collaborative studio practices and interdisciplinary applications of visual arts in performance spaces.

His artistic achievements have earned multiple awards, including nominations for the Polish Film Awards (Polskie Orły) and international recognition at the Gijon Festival (2014) and Ostend Film Festival (2016).

Marceli Sławiński currently co-runs the Scenography Studio with Katarzyna Sobańska at the Academy of Fine Arts in Katowice and leads the Film and TV Scenography Department in Warsaw.
