Marc Stuhldreier serves as a Senior Lecturer in Business Law within Linköping University's Department of Economic and Industrial Development (IEI), specializing in IT law, data protection policy, intellectual property law, EU law, and human rights. His academic role bridges legal theory with technological applications through the Business Law (BRL) division.
His research centers on the legal implications of data policy and technology infrastructure, notably through the ERC Advanced Grant-funded PASSIM project (2017-2022) examining patents as scientific information. This 22 million SEK initiative explored patents' role in scientific ecosystems, extending to global health contexts where intellectual property affects medicine access as highlighted in his October 2022 conference participation on pharmaceutical patents.
Stuhldreier's recent publications reveal a dual focus: his 2023 Nordic Journal of Human Rights article develops ethical frameworks for resolving international norm conflicts, while his 2022 Journal of World Intellectual Property review analyzes IoT regulation challenges. These works demonstrate consistent interdisciplinary engagement with technology governance, human rights, and intellectual property systems.
As an active member of Theme Q (Culture and Society), he collaborates with the Department of Culture and Society (IKOS) on law-society intersections, particularly where economic frameworks influence cultural production. His current work continues to address evolving data governance challenges in digital environments through university-wide interdisciplinary networks.
