Marc Mvé Bekale

Roles and Affiliations: Marc Mvé Bekale holds the position of Lecturer at the IUT of Troyes, part of the University of Reims Champagne-Ardenne. He has served as Head of the Marketing Techniques Department (2014–2018), Head of International Relations (2018–present), and Head of Internships (2003–2014). He also editorially managed the Afram Review magazine from 1998–2009. His academic affiliations include the CIRLEP research team.

He critically examines the legacy of Atlantic slavery, the ethics of resistance in Gabonese politics, and the intersections of oral traditions with religious and literary forms.

Publications and Contributions: Bekale has authored several books, including Senghorian Meditations (2015) and Slave Trade & Experience of Time in African-American Literature (2006). His articles span studies on Martin Delany, Wynton Marsalis, and the Mvet epic. He has contributed to over 30 peer-reviewed journals and edited volumes, often analyzing the philosophical underpinnings of Black intellectual traditions and postcolonial governance.

Political Commentary: Through his blog and articles, Bekale critiques Gabon’s political climate, advocating for democratic reforms and condemning authoritarianism.
