Marc McAllister is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Marketing and Hospitality, Resort and Tourism Management at Coastal Carolina University. He holds a Juris Doctor from the University of Notre Dame Law School, a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from DePauw University, and has completed 10 credits toward an LL.M. in Taxation at the University of Florida Levin College of Law. His academic career includes positions at Texas State University, Indiana Tech Law School, Florida Coastal School of Law, and Western State College of Law.
McAllister's research focuses on legal intersections with business and technology, including employee privacy rights, employment discrimination frameworks, technology's impact on legal practice, consumer protection laws, constitutional interpretations, and Fourth Amendment applications. His work bridges theoretical legal frameworks with practical business environments.
Before entering academia, McAllister gained substantial legal experience through clerkships with Judge Charles R. Wilson at the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit, Chief Judge M. Casey Rodgers at the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Florida, and Judge Mark E. Walker at the same district court. He also practiced as an Associate Attorney at Faegre Drinker (formerly Baker & Daniels).
He maintains active membership in several professional organizations including the Indiana Bar, American Inns of Court, and multiple regional Academies of Legal Studies in Business (ALSB).
