معرفی
Marc Little is an Assistant Professor at the School of Engineering & Physical Sciences and a member of the Institute of Chemical Sciences at Heriot-Watt University. He leads the MALchemy research group, focused on advanced materials chemistry, computational methods, and lab automation.
Education:
- PhD in Supramolecular Chemistry (University of Leeds)
- Postdoctoral Research at University of Liverpool with Prof. Andrew Cooper
Research Interests:
- Design of porous materials for greenhouse gas capture and molecular separations
- Development of automation and AI tools for materials discovery
- Advanced structural characterization using synchrotron and electron diffraction
- Integration of computational chemistry for crystal engineering
Recent Work Trends: Recent publications emphasize hierarchical porous organic frameworks, light-responsive nanoreactors, and chiral metal-organic polyhedra. These studies bridge computational predictions with experimental synthesis, highlighting automation-driven materials discovery.
Grants & Advising: Actively supervises PhD students (accepting new applicants). Collaborates with Prof. Graeme Day on crystal structure prediction and Prof. Andrew Cooper on porous materials design.
Labs & Teams: Runs the MALchemy group (MALchemy.org), specializing in sustainable materials innovation through digital-age chemistry approaches.
