Marc Kirchmeier, Ph.D., is an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Chemistry at Saint Martin’s University, affiliated with the College of Arts and Sciences. He holds a doctorate in Chemistry from Oregon State University and completed postdoctoral research at the University of Alberta, Canada.
His research interests focus on protein formulation, vaccine development, and bioanalytical characterization, with expertise in viral spike proteins and drug delivery systems. Prior to academia, he spent his career in the biotechnology industry, leading research teams at companies such as Corixa, Oakwood Laboratories, Merck Research Laboratories, and VBI Vaccines. He played a key role in regulatory filings for protein and vaccine drug candidates and served as Vice President of Formulation Research and Development at VBI.
Dr. Kirchmeier has also taught undergraduate and graduate courses in Chemistry, Biology, and Pharmacology. Though his industry career has concluded with retirement, he continues to contribute to academia through his adjunct role.
