Marc G.D. Geers

Marc G.D. Geers is a Full Professor in the Mechanical Engineering department at Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e), leading the Mechanics of Materials section and affiliated with the EAISI Foundational initiative. He holds editorial leadership roles, including Editor-in-Chief of the European Journal of Mechanics A/Solids and memberships in prestigious societies like the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences (KNAW).

His academic background includes an MSc from the Royal Military Academy (Brussels, 1987) and a PhD from TU/e (1997). He became a Full Professor at TU/e in 2000 and has held visiting roles at EPFL and École des Mines de Paris.

Research focuses on solid mechanics, multi-scale mechanics, metamaterials, and additive manufacturing, supported by grants from ERC, NWO, and the EU. His work emphasizes industrial collaboration, with over 300 publications and an h-index exceeding 50.
