معرفی
Tom Lenders is a Researcher and doctoral candidate at Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e), within the Department of Mechanical Engineering's Mechanics of Materials research group. His research focuses on developing multi-scale numerical models to predict the long-term performance of fiber-reinforced plastics under cyclic loading and harsh environments. He is also affiliated with the Group Remmers.
Education:
- BSc in Mechanical Engineering (2017)
- MSc in Mechanical Engineering (2019), with a thesis on locally resonant acoustic metamaterials using homogenization techniques.
Research Interests:
His work integrates computational mechanics, polymer science, and materials engineering. Key areas include micromechanical modeling of polymer composites, rate- and temperature-dependent material behavior, and the design of acoustic metamaterials. He employs finite element methods and homogenization techniques to address challenges in material performance prediction under complex loading conditions.
Labs/Teams:
He is part of the Mechanics of Materials group and collaborates with the Group Remmers, focusing on advancing multi-scale modeling and metamaterial analysis. His doctoral research is supervised by Joris Remmers, Leon Govaert, and Marc Geers.
Advising/Grants:
No formal advisees are listed, but his research is supported by TU/e's academic infrastructure. Collaborations include institutions contributing to metamaterials and computational mechanics research.
