Marc Dixon is Professor of Sociology at Dartmouth College. His research examines unions, social movements, and their impact on corporate and governmental policy, with current work on non-state regulation of labor and environmental standards.
He holds a BA from University of Vermont and MA/PhD from Ohio State University. Research interests include labor rights, social movements, and political sociology.
His book Heartland Blues explores labor rights in the industrial Midwest. Recent publications analyze anti-business protest institutionalization and conservative influences on state labor policy.
