معرفی
Professor Marc Dionne is a leading academic at Imperial College London's Department of Life Sciences (Faculty of Natural Sciences), specializing in innate immunity and host-pathogen interactions. His research focuses on understanding how host genotype and physiology influence bacterial infection biology, using the fruit fly Drosophila melanogaster as a model system. Key affiliations include the Centre for Bacterial Resistance Biology, Immuno-Pathology Network, and Institute of Infection.
Education:
- PhD in Molecular and Cell Biology, University of California, Berkeley
- BS in Mathematics and Physics, Yale University
Research Interests:
- Integration of immune responses with systemic physiology
- Physiological disruptions caused by bacterial pathogens
- Conserved signaling pathways in immunity and infection
Grants & Funding: Supported by the Wellcome Trust, Leverhulme Trust, MRC, and BBSRC. Recent studies explore bacterial resistance mechanisms, metabolic interactions in infection, and cytokine signaling.
Labs/Teams: Head of the Dionne Lab (dionnelab.net), which investigates bacterial pathogenesis and host responses using genetic, biochemical, and systems biology approaches.
