معرفی
Marc Bélisle is a Professor in the Department of Biology at the University of Sherbrooke and affiliated with the Centre SÈVE research center. His work integrates behavioral ecology and landscape science to study avian movement in fragmented habitats.
His academic credentials include:
- B.Sc. from Université du Québec à Montréal (1993)
- M.Sc. from Concordia University (1996)
- Ph.D. from Université Laval (2000)
- Postdoctoral fellowships at University of Alberta (2000) and University of Helsinki (2002)
Professor Bélisle specializes in how landscape structure influences bird movement ecology, with current research focusing on spatially explicit modeling of functional connectivity for forest birds. His projects examine dispersal hotspots for songbirds, agricultural impacts on Barn Swallow populations, and territorial behavior of Ruby-throated Hummingbirds using individual-based simulation approaches.
He conducts research through the Centre SÈVE, which supports evolutionary and environmental biology studies addressing conservation challenges in human-modified landscapes.
