Marc Beyer

PD Dr. Marc Beyer leads the Group for Molecular Immunology in Neurodegeneration at the Deutsches Zentrum für Neurodegenerative Erkrankungen (DZNE). His research focuses on mitochondrial protein import quality control mechanisms, T-cell biology, autoimmunity, and CNS pathology. Key investigations include characterizing regulatory T cells, T cell differentiation/exhaustion, and myeloid cell activation using CRISPR/Cas9 technology.

Research explores:

• Molecular events in immune cells contributing to neurodegenerative disorders
• SATB1's role in T cell function and autoimmunity
• Myeloid cell differentiation via gene editing techniques
