Marc Betton is an Assistant Professor (Lecturer) in Management at the University of Bath, affiliated with the Management Centre for Governance, Regulation and Industrial Strategy. His research focuses on micro-firms' regulatory compliance, trade associations' roles in business, and the impact of legislation on small enterprises. He holds a PhD in Management (2018) supervised by Professors J.R. Branston and P.R. Tomlinson. Recent work includes studies on accommodation provider compliance, postgraduate student performance factors, and regulatory perception in micro-firms.
Research interests span regulatory frameworks, firm performance metrics, and small business challenges. His articles explore topics like trade association influence, survey methodology for micro-enterprises, and managerial hubris effects. Consultancy experience includes the Gateway2Growth M4 Junction Report (2015), addressing regional infrastructure impacts on businesses.
