Manzoor Qadir

Manzoor Qadir is an environmental scientist and Visiting Professor at Justus-Liebig University, Germany, with over 30 years of expertise in water-related sustainable development. He leads global projects at the United Nations University Institute for Water, Environment and Health (UNU-INWEH) focusing on unconventional water resources, SDG implementation, and climate resilience. Previously, he held roles as Associate Professor at the University of Agriculture, Pakistan, and senior positions at ICARDA and IWMI. His work emphasizes water recycling, salinity management, and policy development, with contributions to major initiatives like the UN-Water Task Force on Unconventional Water Resources. A Fellow of the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation, he has authored over 200 publications.

Research Interests: Unconventional Water Resources, Water Quality, SDGs, Climate Adaptation, Salt-affected Soils, and Gender Equity in Water Management. His publications analyze soil salinity, wastewater reuse, and policy frameworks to address water scarcity and land degradation.
