معرفی
Dr. Manuella Vincter is a Professor in the Department of Physics at Carleton University and a member of the ATLAS Collaboration since 1998. She currently serves as Deputy Spokesperson of the ATLAS Collaboration, a role she balances with her academic leadership as a former Associate Chair (Graduate Affairs) and Director of the Ottawa-Carleton Institute for Physics (2017-2019). Her research focuses on experimental particle physics, particularly the identification and reconstruction of electrons in W/Z boson decays at the ATLAS experiment at CERN. She has contributed to over 2000 students through teaching courses like PHYS 1007, 2604, and 4807/5002. Her work addresses fundamental questions in particle physics, including the nature of dark matter and the properties of the Higgs boson.
Her scientific contributions include advancing detector calibration techniques, exploring supersymmetry, and analyzing jet flavor tagging. She has published extensively on topics like vector-like quarks, top-quark mass measurements, and double parton scattering. Her work also extends to the environmental sustainability of high-energy physics computing infrastructure.
- Awards: Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada (2025).
- Grants/Advising: Involved in research grants related to ATLAS detector operations and particle physics analysis, though specific grants are not listed.
- Labs/Teams: Leads Carleton’s contributions to the ATLAS Collaboration, collaborating with over 5000 global researchers.
