Manuela Bragagnolo

Manuela Bragagnolo is a Tenure-track Assistant Professor at the University of Trento, jointly affiliated with the Faculty of Law and the School of International Studies. She also serves as an Affiliate Researcher at the Max Planck Institute for Legal History and Legal Theory in Frankfurt am Main. Her academic trajectory includes international positions at Columbia University, University of Geneva, and École Normale Supérieure Lyon.

Research Focus

Bragagnolo investigates the material history of legal/political ideas between the 15th-18th centuries, emphasizing:

• Normative knowledge production via printing press
• Interdisciplinary intersections of law, medicine, physiognomy, and Renaissance art theory
• Digital approaches to historical analysis
