Manuel Figueroa

Dr. Manuel Figueroa is an Associate Professor in the Department of Integrative STEM Education at The College of New Jersey's School of Engineering. His work bridges engineering principles with pedagogical innovation, focusing on integrative STEM education and identity formation.

• PhD in Biomedical Engineering from Drexel University (2012)

Research interests include STEM identity development in formal and informal settings, sustainable design education, and equilibrium of forces in structural engineering. He has contributed to curriculum design and pedagogical frameworks through journal articles and conference presentations.

Recent publications highlight his focus on hands-on learning environments, teacher noticing practices, and the impact of program climate on engineering professionalization. He has presented at the ITEEA National Conference and Integrated STEM Education Conference (ISEC) with projects like Ghanaian STEM makerspace development.
