Manuel Domínguez-Rodrigo is a Visiting Professor of Anthropology at Rice University and Professor of Prehistory at the University of Alcalá in Spain. His research focuses on paleoanthropology, the archaeology of human origins, zooarchaeology, vertebrate taphonomy, and the application of artificial intelligence tools to paleoanthropology.

He co-directs the Institute of Evolution in Africa (IDEA, Madrid, Spain) and leads the Olduvai Gorge project (TOPPP) in Tanzania. Previously, he co-directed projects in Peninj (Tanzania) and Gona (Ethiopia), and has been a visiting scholar at Harvard, Rutgers, and the University of Missouri at St. Louis.
