Manuel Bohn is an Associate Professor of Developmental Psychology at Leuphana University Lüneburg (since 2023). He leads the Junior Professorship for Developmental Psychology and is part of the Institute of Psychology in Education (IPE). Previously, he held roles as a Group Leader (Senior Scientist) at the Max Planck Institute for Evolutionary Anthropology (2020–2023), a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Fellow at Stanford University and Leipzig Research Center (2017–2020), and a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Max Planck Institute (2016–2017). His work focuses on developmental and comparative psychology, particularly cognitive abilities in children and primates, pragmatics, and cross-cultural studies.
Research interests include individual differences in cognition, language acquisition, social cognition, and the application of open-source tools for assessing developmental milestones (e.g., TANGO, oREV). He collaborates internationally on projects like analyzing gaze behavior, mealtime interactions across cultures, and primate communication.
