Dr. Julia Christin Prein is a Research Fellow in the Department for Developmental Psychology at the Institute of Psychology in Education, Leuphana University Lüneburg, where she has been employed since December 2023—first as a Research Associate (through February 2025) and subsequently as a PostDoc from March 2025 onward—under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Manuel Bohn.
She earned her PhD in Comparative Cultural Psychology from the Max Planck Institute for Evolutionary Anthropology (2020–2023), supervised by Prof. Dr. Daniel Haun and Prof. Dr. Manuel Bohn.
Her research centers on Developmental Psychology and Cultural Psychology, investigating how cultural contexts shape cognitive and social development across the lifespan through cross-cultural comparative methodologies. Her work emphasizes experimental and observational analyses of socio-cognitive development in diverse cultural settings.
Dr. Prein is an integral member of Prof. Dr. Manuel Bohn’s research team within the Junior professorship for Developmental Psychology, focusing on the origins and trajectories of human social cognition.
