Manon Istasse is a Postdoctoral Researcher at Université de Picardie Jules Verne, specializing in cultural heritage and food studies. She earned her Master’s and Ph.D. in Social and Cultural Anthropology from Université Libre de Bruxelles (Belgium).
Her research focuses on cultural heritage in World Heritage Sites like Fez (Morocco) and food-related anthropological studies in Morocco, Belgium, and Cambodia. She investigates the role of heritage associations in regional promotion and the socio-cultural dynamics of organic/halal food development.
Key publications include ethnographic analyses of sensory experiences in Fez and socio-anthropological studies of highland food practices in Ratanakiri (Cambodia). Her work intersects with sustainable development, intangible heritage, and community-driven cultural governance.
Manon actively participates in international conferences like ACHS 2016, contributing to debates on heritage’s transformative role and foodways in UNESCO policy frameworks.
