Her research critically reinterprets republicanism across historical and postcolonial contexts, focusing on thinkers like Cicero, Machiavelli, Montesquieu, and Nehru. She explores the conservative roots of republicanism, its postcolonial revival in 20th-century republics, and interdisciplinary connections to decolonial pedagogy and democratic theory.
Her recent publications analyze republicanism in India’s anti-colonial movement, Montesquieu’s Enlightenment thought, and decolonizing curricula. These works highlight intersections between political philosophy, historical analysis, and contemporary pedagogical practices.
Manjeet supervises Nazam Laila, whose PhD project examines digital power and exploitation in the Bangladeshi gig economy. She actively promotes decolonising the curriculum, emphasizing inclusion of women and people of colour in knowledge construction.
