Manish Unhale is a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Business Entrepreneurship & Finance within the Royal Docks School of Business and Law at the University of East London. With 20 years of academic experience, he specializes in Operations & Supply Chain Management (SCM), Project Management, and Green Manufacturing practices in SME contexts. He has held leadership roles including Programme Leader for MSc Project Management and Project Leader for APM accreditation of the MSc IBM programme.
His research focuses on supply chain collaborative practices, waste management in SCM, and green manufacturing in SMEs across India, China, and the UK. He conducts cross-country comparative studies in manufacturing, automotive, and pharmaceutical sectors, with interests in interdisciplinary projects involving finance and HR for areas like SC costing and sustainability auditing. He actively reviews papers for AoM, EURAM, and BAM conferences.
Teaching interests include Operations Management, Project Management, Statistics, and Value Chain Management. He currently teaches modules like SG7004 Global Projects in Practice and MK7041 Managing Sustainable Global Value Chains. His recent research explores female entrepreneurs' roles in SME collaborations, risk/sustainability in collaborations, and greener practices in construction projects.
His publications emphasize collaborative strategies in low-volume contexts, SC networks in SMEs, and informal collaboration's role in SME agility. He has supervised students across MBA, MSc, BSc, and BA programmes.
