Mandy Scott

Mandy Scott is an Honorary Lecturer at the Australian National University (ANU) within the School of Literature, Languages & Linguistics, part of the ANU College of Arts and Social Sciences. She holds a PhD from the University of Hawai'i Manoa and an MA from ANU. Her research focuses on language policy, bilingual/multilingual education, literacy practices, and sociolinguistics. She has extensive experience as a teacher, editor, and advocate for multilingualism, having worked with diverse communities to promote language learning and multiculturalism.

Dr. Scott has been actively involved in educational policy analysis, particularly in reviewing teacher education frameworks for language instructors. Her community contributions led to her 2024 nomination as ACT Senior of the Year for advancing language advocacy. She has published widely on topics including language revitalization, multilingual education strategies, and the societal benefits of linguistic diversity.
