Mandy Boehnke is Vice President for International Affairs, Academic Qualification, and Diversity at the University of Bremen. She earned her sociology degree from TU Chemnitz and the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, and has been affiliated with the University of Bremen since 2004. Prior to her current role, she served as Dean of Studies in the Faculty of Social Sciences (2021–2022) and held leadership positions at the Bremen International Graduate School of Social Sciences (BIGSSS), including Director of Studies and board member.

Her work emphasizes internationalization (e.g., English-language programs, cross-border research) and the systematic promotion of the Central Academic Structure, which constitutes over 50% of the university’s staff. Boehnke has served on committees such as the Academic Senate, Faculty Council, and Research Committee. Her current five-year term as Vice President began in September 2022 under President Jutta Günther’s leadership.
