Dr. Mandi Larsen is a Senior Lecturer in Methods and Social Sciences at Constructor University (formerly Jacobs University Bremen) and Coordinator of the BIGSSS Methods Center. She holds a PhD in Sociology from the Bremen International Graduate School of Social Sciences (BIGSSS), an MPH from Columbia University, and a BA in Sociology/Psychology from Seattle Pacific University. Her research focuses on social cohesion, gender-based violence, and health inequalities, informed by postdoctoral experiences at the University of Hamburg and NOVA Institute in Norway.

Her research explores structural determinants of social cohesion, gendered violence prevention, and health policy impacts. Recent work includes analyzing pandemic effects on social cohesion (2024) and interventions in Kyrgyzstan (2021). She has co-edited Frontiers in Sociology volumes on pandemic impacts and published widely in journals like Cultural-Historical Psychology and International Journal of Health Services.

Larsen advises over 30 graduate and undergraduate students annually across disciplines including International Relations, Data Science, and Psychology. She teaches advanced methods courses and coordinates interdisciplinary research training for doctoral students.
