Mandeep Bajaj

Dr. Mandeep Bajaj is a Professor of Medicine and Vice Chair for Clinical Affairs in the Department of Medicine at Baylor College of Medicine. He serves as the Medical Director of the Diabetes Program at Baylor St. Luke's Medical Center and Chief of the Section of Endocrinology and Diabetes. His expertise lies in diabetes, obesity, and metabolic disorders. Dr. Bajaj holds an MBBS from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (1989-1991) and completed fellowships at Harvard Medical School/Joslin Diabetes Center (1997) and Montefiore Hospital (1994).

His research focuses on the metabolic mechanisms of insulin resistance and diabetes. Key contributions include delineating pathways linking adiponectin and nitric oxide dysfunction in type 2 diabetes. He has received prestigious awards, including the Master Clinician Award (2021) and Fulbright & Jaworski Teaching Award (2011).

Dr. Bajaj chairs the American Diabetes Association’s National Board and contributes to clinical guidelines. His work spans translational research, clinical care, and teaching, emphasizing patient-centered outcomes and innovative therapies.
