Mandana Limbert is a Professor at the City University of New York (CUNY), affiliated with the CUNY Advanced Research Collaborative (ARC). She earned her Ph.D. in Anthropology from the University of Michigan in 2002 and has been a CUNY faculty member since then. Her research focuses on social and cultural dynamics in the Arabian Peninsula, particularly Oman, examining modern state-building, infrastructure, environmental politics, and transnational histories linking the Indian Ocean, East Africa, and the Arab world. Key themes include temporality, oil economies, and the interplay between memory, religion, and colonial legacies.
