Manal El Khalfaoui

Manal El Khalfaoui is an Adjunct Instructor in the Department of World Languages and Cultures at the University of Tennessee, Chattanooga, and a Ph.D. candidate in French with a minor in Linguistics. Her research focuses on postcolonial literature, specifically the Harki community's narratives under French colonial and post-colonial contexts. She employs critical theories from Foucault, Agamben, and Mbembe to analyze power dynamics, historical erasure, and state violence.

Teaching & Awards: Taught beginner/intermediate French courses (in-person/online), received a 2023 teaching award, and holds a 2020 certification in Online Teaching. Served as an Adjunct Instructor at UTC.
