معرفی
Professor Malte Grosche is a faculty member at the University of Cambridge's Department of Physics, based at the Cavendish Laboratory. He rejoined the Cavendish in 2007 after roles at Royal Holloway, University of London (2001–2007), and a postdoc at the Max-Planck-Institute for Chemical Physics of Solids (1998–2001). His research focuses on quantum materials, particularly superconductivity in aperiodic systems like high-pressure bismuth and unconventional superconductors in iron-based compounds such as YFe₂Ge₂. His group employs advanced techniques including high-pressure measurements, quantum oscillation analysis, and ultra-high magnetic fields to study Fermi surfaces and phase transitions in materials like NiS₂ and UTe₂.
Education:
- PhD from the Cavendish Laboratory (1991–1995)
- Trinity College Title A Fellow (1994–1997)
- Undergraduate studies at the University of Cambridge
Research Interests:
- Correlated quantum states in complex materials
- Superconductivity under extreme conditions
- Fermi surface determination via quantum oscillations
- Pressure-induced metallization of Mott insulators
Equipment and Facilities: Access to world-class facilities for crystal growth, high-pressure magnetotransport measurements, and low-temperature/high-magnetic-field experiments. The Quantum Matter group specializes in synthesizing challenging materials and probing their electronic structures under extreme conditions.
Advising and Grants: No specific student names listed, but active in mentoring graduate researchers. Research supported by grants enabling cutting-edge equipment and international collaborations.
Labs/Teams: Leads the Quantum Matter research group at the Cavendish Laboratory, collaborating with global institutions on high-pressure physics and correlated electron systems.
