Mallory McHenry

Mallory McHenry is a Lecturer in Harp at the Butler School of Music, University of Texas at Austin. Previously, she served as Harp Instructor and Professor in Theory and Composition at Texas Christian University. She holds certifications as a Suzuki harp teacher (Suzuki Association of the Americas) and is a Nationally Certified Teacher of Music. McHenry is actively involved with the American Harp Society, currently serving on the Austin Chapter's board after prior service with the Dallas Chapter.

Her research focuses on transcribing works by female composers of color for solo harp. Performance highlights include solo engagements with the Dallas Symphony Orchestra and collaborations with ensembles like the Austin Civic Orchestra. She was a founding member of chamber group e(L)ement for MPR's Class Notes series (2020-2023).

Awards include her groundbreaking residency on Performance Today, where she became the first harpist featured. She advocates for diversity in classical music through organizations like Challenge The Stats and operates McHenry Suzuki Studio, offering private harp/piano instruction.
