Dr. Mallika Tamvada is a Senior Lecturer in Corporate Law, Governance and Stewardship at Bournemouth University’s Faculty of Business and Law, Department of Law. She holds a PhD from the University of Essex, an LLM from the University of Houston, and a BA LLB (Hons.) from Maharshi Dayanand University, India.
Her research focuses on corporate accountability, corporate social responsibility (CSR), business and human rights (BHR), corporate governance, and socio-legal studies. Her work aligns with UN Sustainable Development Goals including Decent Work and Economic Growth, Responsible Consumption and Production, and Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions.
Her recent publications explore the integration of CSR and BHR frameworks, mandatory CSR laws in India, and theoretical foundations for corporate accountability. She has secured research grants from Bournemouth University’s ACORN and the ESRC, and actively contributes to academic discourse through conference presentations and editorial roles.

She serves as Assistant Editor of the BU Law Review, tutor for LLB Level 4, and academic advisor. Her prior professional experience includes legal practice at India’s High Court of Delhi and Supreme Court, and work on refugee and gender-based violence cases with YMCA International, USA.
Her research projects include 'Collaborative Corporate Social Responsibility for addressing societal problems' (in progress) and 'Public Sector Enterprises and CSR: Evidence from India' (completed).
