Malin Pettersson Öberg is a Swedish visual artist, writer, and educator currently serving as a Visiting Assistant Professor at Konstfack University of Arts, Crafts and Design in the Department of Visual Arts and Sloyd Education until June 2026. She maintains an active studio practice at Slakthusateljéerna in Stockholm while contributing to art education.
Her artistic practice centers on narrative-based videos and installations that explore existential, social, and political issues through multi-disciplinary knowledge exchanges. Her work often addresses complex urban planning processes in Stockholm and the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic, resulting in meditative and intimate pieces where everyday encounters, research, and intertextual dialogues meet audiovisual exploration.
Pettersson Öberg's recent publications and exhibitions demonstrate a consistent focus on archival practices, urban documentation, and the relationship between physical space and memory. Her 2023 publications 'Modellarkivet' in both Swedish and English represent significant contributions to understanding Stockholm's urban development through artistic documentation.

As an educator, Pettersson Öberg brings her extensive exhibition experience from venues including Rencontres Internationales, ArkDes, Index, and Bonniers Konsthall to her teaching practice. Her international perspective, developed through exhibitions across Europe and research trips (including a 2024 trip to Rome with the Swedish Institute), enriches her pedagogical approach to artistic processes.
She maintains an active studio practice while balancing teaching responsibilities, with her work distributed by Filmform and featured in numerous international film festivals and exhibitions since 2003.
