Dr. Malika Fernando is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Lifespan Health and Wellbeing Research Centre, Macquarie Medical School, Macquarie University. Her work centers on neuroscience and nutritional interventions for brain health, particularly Alzheimer's disease.
Her research interests include Alzheimer's disease, coconut oil supplementation, ketone body metabolism, brain energy dynamics, and clinical trials for dementia prevention. She has conducted studies in Sri Lanka on virgin coconut oil and food insecurity during the COVID-19 pandemic.
