Malcolm Quinn is a Professor of Cultural and Political History and currently serves as Associate Dean of Research and Director of the Camberwell, Chelsea and Wimbledon (CCW) Graduate School at the University of the Arts London. His roles include leading the CCW Graduate School Team to foster research-integrated teaching, global collaborations, and cultural impact. His research focuses on the intersection of utility, taste, and social equity in 19th-century British art education, as well as the legacy of utilitarianism in cultural policy. Quinn has authored key works like Utilitarianism and the Art School in Nineteenth-Century Britain and co-edited collections exploring taste and museums post-Bourdieu. He has organized major conferences, including 'Victorian Futures,' linking historical debates to contemporary cultural developments like Olympicopolis. His scholarship spans art history, philosophy, and psychoanalysis, with a focus on Bentham's ethics and aesthetic theory.
Quinn's academic contributions include over 40 publications, including articles on Bentham's moral philosophy, museum studies, and design theory. He supervises PhD students in art and design, emphasizing creative research methodologies.
