Maja Šešelj is an Associate Professor of Anthropology and Chair of the Department at Bryn Mawr College. She holds the Clowes Professorship in Science and Public Policy and teaches courses in biological anthropology, prehistoric archaeology, forensic anthropology, human evolution, and human growth and development.
- Education: Ph.D. from New York University
Her research focuses on the evolution of the modern human pattern of growth and development, with particular emphasis on the relationship between dental development, skeletal growth, and sexual maturation. She integrates data from archaeological and known-age human skeletal collections worldwide, including longitudinal studies in the U.S., and has conducted paleontological/archaeological fieldwork in Croatia, Tanzania, and France. Broader interests include paleoanthropology, functional anatomy, human/primate biology, and Paleolithic archaeology.

Šešelj supervises advanced courses in human evolution, forensic anthropology, and the senior conference seminar, with plans to expand into human and primate biology and behavior.
