Maja Lisa FritzHuspen serves as Instructor of Music (Voice) at Muhlenberg College, with prior teaching appointments at the University of Iowa, Mainstage Center for the Arts, StageCoach Theatre arts school, Conservatory of Music and Dance, and her private Philadelphia studio.
Her educational credentials include a MA and MFA in vocal performance from the University of Iowa and a BM from Augsburg College, supplemented by YogaVoice® certification. She maintains active membership in the National Association of Teachers of Singing and Music Teachers National Association.
As a professional Mezzo-Soprano, FritzHuspen specializes in operatic performance and oratorio work with 25+ roles spanning Hansel and Gretel, Die Fledermaus, Madame Butterfly, and The Magic Flute. Her research integrates Vocal Health methodologies through YogaVoice® while advancing Classical Singing pedagogy. Performance highlights include Handel’s Messiah, Beethoven’s 9th Symphony, and collaborations with ConcertOpera Philadelphia and Center City Opera Theatre.
FritzHuspen directs major productions including High School Musical and Hairspray while mentoring students toward Broadway appearances in Matilda and Walnut Street Theatre engagements. As a Learning Arts teaching artist, she conducts New York-based performance residencies and masterclasses.
