Maija Korhonen is a University Lecturer at the School of Educational Sciences and Psychology, University of Eastern Finland. She holds a PhD in Psychology and specializes in social psychology, work studies, and qualitative methodologies. Her research explores themes such as mental health in workplaces, burnout discourses, dental anxiety management, and entrepreneurial identity formation.
Her work integrates interdisciplinary perspectives, examining how societal norms and discourses shape individual and organizational behaviors. Key projects include investigating good workplace practices for mental health support and analyzing narrative constructions of disability identity. She has contributed to policy-oriented reports and collaborative studies on employment and rehabilitation practices.
Korhonen’s research emphasizes critical qualitative approaches, including narrative analysis and discourse studies. She has led and participated in multiple national projects and has published widely in peer-reviewed journals and edited volumes, focusing on topics such as labor subjectivity, healthcare interventions, and educational policy.
