Maia Jacobs is an Assistant Professor of Computer Science and Preventive Medicine at Northwestern University. Her research focuses on human-centered computing to design health technologies that adapt to longitudinal health needs. She holds a Ph.D. in Human-Centered Computing from Georgia Institute of Technology and a B.S. in Industrial and Systems Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Her work emphasizes user-centered design principles to create equitable and adaptive health interventions. Key research areas include wearable health tools, voice assistants for mental health, telehealth cancer care, and AI integration in healthcare workflows. She collaborates with low-income communities and informal caregivers to ensure technologies address real-world healthcare challenges.
