Maia Conran

Maia Conran is a Lecturer in Contextual Practice - Fine Art at University of the Arts London, Wimbledon, and a practicing artist whose work explores the intersection of internet infrastructure and site-specific expanded moving image practice. Her PhD research at Queen Mary University of London's School of Languages, Linguistics and Film examines historical parallels between 1960s Expanded Cinema and contemporary digital exhibition methods.

Her practice-based research focuses on spatial politics, voice, and privacy in physical/digital domains. She has presented solo exhibitions at Kingsgate Workshops (London), Grand Union (Birmingham), IMT Gallery (London), and G39 (Cardiff), with her work featured in a Grand Union monograph Here is the Yard. Key themes include:

Conran maintains active research group membership in the Disembodied Voice collective and has participated in international screenings and residencies.
