Mahmut Kuzucuoğlu is a faculty member in the Department of Mathematics at Middle East Technical University in Ankara, Turkey. He holds a Ph.D. from the University of Manchester (1987), an M.S. from the University of Toledo (1985), and both an M.S. (1984) and B.S. (1981) from METU.
His research focuses on locally finite groups, simple groups, and centralizers of subgroups in simple groups. He serves as an editor for the International Journal of Group Theory and the University of Istanbul Faculty of Science Journal of Mathematics, Physics and Astronomy.
Kuzucuoğlu has taught various courses including graduate and undergraduate algebra, group theory exercises, and has given seminars for elementary students on topics like prime numbers, modular mathematics, communication and encryption.
