Magnus Ryden is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Energy Engineering, Chalmers University of Technology, specializing in energy conversion technologies. He also serves as director of studies for the graduate school of Energy, Environment and Systems.
His research priorities include:
- Carbon capture methods like Chemical-Looping Combustion
- Combustion techniques for boiler performance optimization such as Oxygen Carrier Aided Combustion
- Materials and reactor systems for biomass/waste-to-energy conversion
- Interdisciplinary approaches to energy transition analysis
Ryden leads the master's course Design of Industrial Energy Equipment (KVM071) and contributes to Carbon Capture and Storage (TRA205), Sustainable Energy Futures (FFR170), Thermodynamics with Energy Engineering (MTF042), and Energy Engineering (ENM161).
